Description
of the Module “ESP"
English for Specific Purposes
(ESP) is a targeted approach to teaching English to learners with specific
professional or academic needs. Unlike General English, ESP focuses on the
language and skills relevant to fields like business, law, engineering, or
medicine. It includes English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for students and
English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) for professionals, using real-life
materials to make learning practical and applicable.
Pedagogically Speaking
The module was first introduced in
2016/2017 academic year at master one level option "LLA" with
22HOURS. It is taught only in the second and third semesters to master 1 and
2 as a transversal unit (see Canvas ). Its coefficients and credits are
respectively “1" and “1". For the evaluation mode, it is 100%
exam, also, it is taught online.
